Limit the number of people in your kitchen while cooking to prevent distractions from occurring. Also, be sure to keep kids far away from the stove to prevent accidents from occurring.
Be sure your smoke alarms work
If a fire breaks out a working smoke alarm is a must. Smoke alarms should be positioned liberally around your home, in your kitchen, on all floors, and outside of any bedrooms. You should also make sure your alarms by working once a month. If it’s been more than a year since you replaced the batteries, do so now.
